Tongues Bloody Tongues was a collaborative opera premiered by Los Angeles collective Killsonic in 2010 at REDCAT. It attempts to tell the story of Iraq, with a fictionalized Saddam narrating and conducting the orchestra and unreliably re-imagining six thousand years. Multiple members of Killsonic composed sections of the piece; others were realized as group improvisations. The libretto was written by Joseph Tepperman.
